Happy Journey

This time again bet on gentleman's game, but with a different perspective and the wholehearted effort from Jayasurya is somewhat appreciable.

On the whole, Happy Journey is a successful journey.

On the positive side there are some good performances and a novel plot. But the average second half and drags limits the impact.

‘Happy Journey’ of course is a journey offering some happy memories, but it remains to be seen the extent to which it successfully carried the initial charm associated with its theme and presentation to the audience.

Looks like Boban Samuel is on a successful drive with the release of his latest movie Happy Journey. The movie deals with the life of a blind young man. His potential and dreams are revealed well in this movie.

Well, in short, it’s a film that attempts to put in too many things, and that too rather shoddily and hence ends up being a let-down. 

Overall Happy Journey is not a boring movie. But what it supposed to do was to make us feel for the characters and join their achievement, which sadly didn’t happened. 

Inexplicable is the only word that can be used to explain the not-so-happy journey.

Happy Journey is the story of an ever-smiling, quiet young man named Aaron (Jayasurya) whose life is a constant duel between his dreams and his fate.

All in all, there are some Nobel intentions behind the film and positive messages sent all across. But had the makers shown some more maturity and crafted it with more sensibility, the promise of the plot could have made it a better flick.

'Happy Journey' could have been far better had it desisted from a detour from its fundamental premise. Its tryst with quality is fleeting but the genuineness of the plot and decent performances make the movie a watchable one.

The interest quotient in Boban Samuel's 'Happy Journey' remains the minimum, and at the end of it, its nothing more than a series of disparate scenes that try their best to hold together. It's a bit sad, since the source material that the maker had in his hands could have evolved into something infinitely better, with perhaps a bit of a shift in perspective.

Though the movie is thoroughly enjoyable in the first half, it becomes dull in the second half as the script is totally messed up.

സീനുകള്‍ ഭംഗിയായി ഒപ്പിയെടുത്ത മഹേഷ്‌രാജിന്റെ ക്യാമറാമികവാണ് സിനിമയുടെ ഹൈലൈറ്റ്. അരുണ്‍ലാലിന്റെ തിരക്കഥയില്‍ അല്‍പം ചില പാളിച്ച തോന്നാമെങ്കിലും സംവിധായകമികവ് അതിനെയെല്ലാം ചുഴറ്റിയെറിഞ്ഞു എന്ന് വേണം പറയാന്‍.

എങ്ങനെ നോക്കിയാലും ‘റോമന്‌സി’ന്റെ സംവിധായകന്‍ ബോബന്‍ സാമുവല്‍  ആണ് ഇത് ചെയ്തതെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കാന്‍ പറ്റാത്തത്ര അമേച്വറാണു സിനിമ. 

ചുരുക്കിപ്പറഞ്ഞാല്‍, പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്ക് ഒട്ടും ഹാപ്പിയായി തോന്നില്ല ഈ ഹാപ്പി ജേര്‍ണി. പ്രേക്ഷകരുടേത് ഒരു ഹാപ്പി ജേണിയല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് പടത്തിന്റെ പണംമുടക്കാളി ഒരു ഹാപ്പി ജോണിയാകാനും സാധ്യത കുറവ്.

With a shaky script by Arun Lal, the director unveils the story adding high melodrama. The film`s visuals and music are fine, at best.
